Morocco's Minister of Equipment and Water, Nizar Baraka, stated that recent heavy rainfall and snowfall above 1,800 meters altitude have led to a significant recharge of the country's groundwater tables. Speaking on Monday, April 14, 2026, on the sidelines of the oral question session at the House of Representatives, Baraka confirmed that water levels in some aquifers have risen by up to 20 meters.
