Lockheed Martin has provided new details on the F-16 Block 72 program for Morocco, revealing that the aircraft produced for the Kingdom and Taiwan incorporate a unique technological configuration. The company stated that this configuration has never been integrated before on this type of fighter jet.
According to the U.S. defense contractor, the Moroccan F-16s are part of a $3.8 billion deal signed in 2020 for 25 aircraft. The technical validation phase has been completed, paving the way for deliveries to begin in the coming months.
The Block 72 variant, also known as the F-16V, includes advanced avionics, an AESA radar, and improved weapons systems. Morocco already operates a fleet of older F-16s, and these new jets will enhance its air force capabilities.
No specific delivery date has been announced, but industry sources suggest the first aircraft could arrive in Morocco by late 2026 or early 2027.
