Morocco's consumer prices rise 0.5% in February 2026

Morocco's consumer price index increased by 0.5% in February 2026, according to official data from the High Commission for Planning.

Morocco's consumer price index (CPI) rose by 0.5% in February 2026 compared to the previous month, according to a note published by the High Commission for Planning (HCP) on March 18, 2026. The increase follows a 0.3% rise recorded in January 2026.

The HCP attributed the February inflation primarily to a 1.1% increase in food prices. Non-food products saw a more modest rise of 0.2% over the same period.

On an annual basis, the inflation rate stood at 1.8% in February 2026, compared to 2.0% in January. The core inflation index, which excludes volatile items like fresh food and regulated prices, increased by 0.4% month-on-month and 2.0% year-on-year.

The data indicates a continuation of moderate inflationary pressures in the Moroccan economy at the start of the year.
