Morocco's national football team, the Atlas Lions, will play three friendly matches in preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, according to the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF). The matches are scheduled against Burundi, Madagascar, and Norway.
The first match is set for May 17, 2026, against Burundi at the Grand Stade de Tanger in Tangier. The second friendly will be against Madagascar on May 24, 2026, at the same venue. The third match, against Norway, is scheduled for June 1, 2026, at Stade Mohammed V in Casablanca.
Morocco qualified for the 2026 World Cup after topping their African qualifying group. The team is drawn in Group H alongside Portugal, Uruguay, and South Korea. The World Cup will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19, 2026.
These friendlies are part of Morocco's strategy to fine-tune tactics and test players ahead of the tournament. The Atlas Lions aim to build on their historic 2022 World Cup performance, where they became the first African team to reach the semi-finals.
