The African Development Bank (AfDB) has projected that Morocco's economy will grow by 4.2% in 2026, according to the bank's latest economic outlook. This forecast is based on sustained household consumption and continued investment in infrastructure projects.
The growth estimate aligns with broader trends in North Africa, where the AfDB expects regional GDP to expand by 4.0% in 2026. Morocco's performance is seen as part of a recovery from slower growth in previous years, supported by agricultural output and structural reforms.
Key drivers include public investment in transport and energy infrastructure, as well as private consumption fueled by improved employment and remittances. The AfDB also noted that inflation is expected to moderate, providing additional support to household purchasing power.
However, the bank cautioned that risks remain, including potential drought conditions affecting agriculture and global economic uncertainties. The forecast assumes normal rainfall and stable commodity prices.
