Morocco's boxing team secured two medals at the 2026 IBA World Boxing Championships held in Brazil, according to a statement from the Royal Moroccan Boxing Federation (FRMB). The team finished 11th overall among 61 participating countries.
Issam Bensayar won a bronze medal in the men's 63.5 kg lightweight division, while Khadija El-Mardi earned a silver medal in the women's 75 kg middleweight category. Both athletes competed against top international boxers.
The championships, organized by the International Boxing Association (IBA), took place in Rio de Janeiro from April 15 to 25, 2026. Morocco's performance marks a significant achievement for African boxing on the global stage.
