Morocco has updated the coordinates of its two contact points responsible for receiving alerts related to ship-source marine pollution, according to the latest list published by the International Maritime Organization (IMO). The update was carried out between May 1 and July 31, 2026, as part of the IMO's periodic revision of national contact points.
The two points are located in Casablanca, Morocco's main port city. They serve as the national focal points for reporting and responding to pollution incidents from vessels, in line with the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL). The IMO maintains a global list of such contact points to facilitate rapid communication between coastal states and ships in distress.
This administrative update ensures that Morocco's contact details remain accurate and operational, enabling timely coordination in the event of an oil spill or other marine pollution emergency. The IMO's list is updated regularly, and member states are encouraged to notify any changes promptly.
