The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that Morocco will host the 2027 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). This marks the second consecutive time Morocco has been chosen to host the tournament, following the 2025 edition.
The decision was confirmed by CAF on August 15, 2026, during a meeting of the executive committee. Morocco's successful organization of the 2025 tournament, which saw the national team win the title, was cited as a key factor in the selection.
The 2027 tournament is scheduled to take place in early 2027, with exact dates and venues to be announced later. Morocco's infrastructure and experience in hosting major football events were highlighted as strengths.
This announcement continues Morocco's growing role in African football, as the country is also set to co-host the 2030 FIFA World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal.
