The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially confirmed Morocco as the host nation for the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). This follows the governing body's decision to postpone the tournament, originally scheduled for 2024, to 2026.

CAF announced the postponement to align the competition with the new international match calendar and to allow for more extensive preparations. The decision was made during a CAF Executive Committee meeting, with the 2025 edition of the tournament being canceled entirely.

Morocco, which hosted and finished as runners-up in the 2022 WAFCON, had previously been awarded the hosting rights for the 2024 event. The Royal Moroccan Football Federation has expressed its readiness and commitment to organizing a successful tournament in 2026.

The 2026 WAFCON will also serve as the qualifying tournament for African nations to the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup. Further details regarding the exact dates and venues within Morocco are expected to be announced by CAF in the coming months.
