The draw for the 2026 Futsal Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) took place on Monday, August 10, 2026, in Rabat, Morocco. The Moroccan national futsal team, three-time defending champions, was placed in Group A alongside Libya, Zambia, and Algeria.
Morocco, which has won the last three editions of the tournament (2016, 2020, and 2024), will aim to extend its dominance on home soil. The tournament is scheduled to be held in Morocco from August 11 to 21, 2026, with matches taking place in Rabat and Casablanca.
The draw placed the other participating nations in Group B and Group C. Group B includes Egypt, Angola, Ghana, and Mauritania, while Group C features Mozambique, Nigeria, Tanzania, and Cape Verde. The top two teams from each group, along with the two best third-placed teams, will advance to the quarter-finals.
Morocco's opening match will be against Zambia on August 12, 2026, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Hall in Rabat. The team will then face Algeria on August 14 and Libya on August 16 in the group stage.
The 2026 AFCON also serves as a qualifying tournament for the FIFA Futsal World Cup, which will be held in 2027. The top three teams from the AFCON will secure their spots at the World Cup.
