Morocco has reiterated its firm support for Arab nations in the face of what it describes as Iranian interference and aggression. The statement was made by Moroccan Interior Minister Abdelouafi Laftit during the 41st session of the Arab Interior Ministers Council, held in Tunis, Tunisia, on April 2, 2026.
According to official reports from the Moroccan state news agency MAP, Laftit emphasized Morocco's "constant and unwavering solidarity" with its Arab brothers. He condemned actions that threaten the security and stability of Arab countries, aligning Morocco's position with the broader consensus of the Council.
The Council's session focused on enhancing joint Arab security cooperation. A final communiqué issued by the ministers condemned foreign interference in the internal affairs of Arab states and rejected all forms of support for armed militias, a point widely interpreted as directed at Iran's regional activities.
This reaffirmation of support comes amid ongoing regional tensions. Morocco has consistently aligned itself with fellow Arab states, particularly Gulf Cooperation Council members, on issues of regional security and sovereignty.
