Morocco showcased its national strategy for green entrepreneurship at the 'Green Entrepreneurship Forum' held in Ifrane on June 15-16, 2026. The event, organized by the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, brought together policymakers, entrepreneurs, and investors to discuss sustainable business models.
Key initiatives presented include the 'Green Innovation Fund' with a budget of 500 million dirhams (approximately $50 million) to support eco-friendly startups, and the 'Green Jobs Program' aiming to create 25,000 jobs in renewable energy and waste management by 2030. These efforts align with Morocco's National Sustainable Development Strategy (SNDD) 2030.
Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Leila Benali, stated: 'Green entrepreneurship is not just an environmental necessity but an economic opportunity for Morocco. We are committed to fostering a conducive ecosystem for green startups.' The forum also featured success stories from Moroccan green startups, such as Eco-Pap, which recycles paper waste into eco-friendly packaging.
