Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi is among nine players from Morocco's history-making 2022 World Cup squad named for the 2026 tournament in North America, according to the Moroccan football federation.
Morocco coach Mohamed Ouahbi included the core of the team that reached the semi-finals in Qatar, the best performance by an African nation. Other returning players include goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, defender Noussair Mazraoui, and midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.
The 2026 World Cup, co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, will feature an expanded 48-team format. Morocco will face Croatia, Belgium, and Canada in Group F.
