Morocco has officially launched a new brand, MOROCCOCAN, specializing in natural cosmetics formulated with regulated cannabis oil. The brand initially offers a range of 11 natural cosmetic products, developed from ingredients sourced from the country's legal cannabis cultivation.
The launch follows Morocco's 2021 law legalizing the use of cannabis for medical, cosmetic, and industrial purposes. The brand is part of the country's efforts to regulate and develop its cannabis industry, which has a long history of traditional cultivation in the Rif region.
MOROCCOCAN's products include creams, oils, and serums, all made with locally grown cannabis. The brand aims to tap into the growing global market for CBD-based cosmetics, while ensuring compliance with national and international regulations.
The Moroccan National Agency for the Regulation of Cannabis Activities (ANRAC) oversees the production and distribution of regulated cannabis products. The agency has licensed several cooperatives and companies to cultivate and process cannabis for legal purposes.
This initiative is expected to create jobs and boost the local economy in the Rif region, while providing consumers with safe, tested products. The brand's launch marks a significant step in Morocco's transition from an illicit cannabis market to a regulated industry.
