Morocco is set to undergo a major industrial transformation with the introduction of private 5G networks. On May 20, 2026, inwi announced the deployment of the country's first private 5G network, marking a significant step toward the official launch of commercial 5G services, expected within six months.
The private 5G network is designed to support industrial applications such as smart manufacturing, logistics, and remote operations, offering dedicated, high-speed connectivity with low latency. Inwi's initiative aligns with Morocco's national digital strategy to enhance competitiveness and attract foreign investment.
According to inwi, the network will initially serve pilot projects in industrial zones, with plans to expand based on demand. The company has partnered with technology providers to ensure the infrastructure meets industry standards.
This development positions Morocco as a regional leader in 5G adoption, particularly for enterprise and industrial use cases. The commercial launch of 5G services is anticipated by late 2026, pending regulatory approvals.
