On the sidelines of GITEX Africa Morocco 2026, held from April 7 to 9 in Marrakech, the Secretariat of State for Crafts and the Maison de l'Artisan launched an integrated digitalization offer aimed at supporting Moroccan artisans in their transition to the digital economy.
The initiative was announced on Tuesday during the fourth edition of GITEX Africa Morocco, one of the continent's leading technology events. The program is designed to provide artisans with tools and support to develop their online presence, access digital marketplaces, and modernize their business practices.
The Maison de l'Artisan, a public institution under the Secretariat of State for Crafts, plays a central role in the program by offering training, technical assistance, and digital platforms tailored to the needs of Morocco's artisan sector, which employs a significant portion of the country's workforce.
The launch at GITEX Africa underscores Morocco's broader ambition to leverage technology to preserve and promote its rich artisanal heritage while integrating craftspeople into the modern digital economy. Officials emphasized that the program aims to help artisans reach new national and international markets through e-commerce and digital communication tools.
