The Moroccan government has completed the rehabilitation of 1,400 primary health centers across the country, according to official statements. The program, launched in 2019, represents a total investment of 6.4 billion dirhams (approximately $640 million).

The initiative is a core part of the national plan to reform the health sector and improve access to basic medical services. The upgrades focused on modernizing infrastructure and medical equipment in existing facilities.

Authorities state the project aims to strengthen preventive care and bring services closer to citizens, particularly in rural and remote areas. The rehabilitation is intended to support the rollout of mandatory health insurance by improving the quality of primary care facilities.

While the physical upgrades are reported as complete, challenges remain in staffing and operational capacity across the national health network. The government has indicated further investments are planned to continue the sector's development.
