Morocco's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on Thursday, March 26, 2026, that the ongoing events in the Gulf region must not overshadow the concerning developments related to the Palestinian question, particularly in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. The statement was made by Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita during a press briefing in Rabat following a meeting with his Mauritanian counterpart.

Bourita emphasized that the international community's focus on other regional crises should not come at the expense of the deteriorating humanitarian and political situation for Palestinians. He reiterated Morocco's consistent position, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, who chairs the Al-Quds Committee, calling for a just and lasting solution based on the two-state framework.

The Foreign Minister's comments come amid heightened regional tensions. He stressed the urgent need to protect Palestinian civilians and to revive a credible peace process, warning that neglecting the Palestinian issue risks further destabilizing the entire region.
