Morocco's Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Leila Benali, has reassured the public about the solidity of the country's national fuel reserves. In a statement on May 20, 2026, she confirmed that Morocco holds sufficient strategic stocks to cover 30 days of consumption, ensuring supply stability amid global market fluctuations.
Benali emphasized that the reserves are regularly monitored and updated to meet international standards. The announcement comes as part of ongoing efforts to maintain energy security and mitigate the impact of external shocks on the domestic market.
The minister also highlighted that the government is working on diversifying energy sources and increasing storage capacity to further strengthen the country's resilience. This includes investments in renewable energy and infrastructure projects.
