The Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has issued a formal notice to the French Football Federation (FFF) and the Stade de France management company following the public display of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) trophy. The trophy was presented on the pitch during the halftime of a match between Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique de Marseille on March 22, 2026.

According to verified reports, the FRMF considers the display a "serious" act that violates the trophy's regulations and the intellectual property rights of the Confederation of African Football (CAF). Morocco, as the reigning champion and custodian of the trophy, was not consulted prior to the event.

The formal notice demands detailed explanations from the French parties regarding the circumstances that led to the trophy's presentation. The FRMF has reserved the right to take further legal action to protect its rights and the integrity of the prestigious continental trophy.

This incident occurs amid the ongoing UNAF U-17 tournament in Libya, where the Moroccan and Algerian youth teams are scheduled to compete. The trophy display in France is a separate diplomatic and sporting matter.
