A Moroccan court has postponed the appeal trial of several Senegalese football fans charged with acts of violence following the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final. The hearing, scheduled for late March 2026 at the Rabat Court of Appeal, was adjourned to a later date, according to judicial sources.

The defendants were initially convicted in connection with violent incidents that erupted in Rabat after Senegal's victory in the AFCON final against Morocco on February 9, 2025. The disturbances occurred near the Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex, the stadium that hosted the match.

Moroccan authorities had arrested dozens of individuals in the aftermath of the clashes. The upcoming appeal trial will re-examine the charges, which reportedly include vandalism and assault. The new hearing date has not been publicly announced.

The case has drawn attention to fan behavior in international tournaments and the legal repercussions for violence at sporting events. The 2025 AFCON was hosted by Morocco.
