The appeal trial for 18 supporters of the Moroccan football club Raja Casablanca, who were convicted for their involvement in violent clashes, has been postponed. The Casablanca Court of Appeal rescheduled the hearing to April 2026, prolonging the legal process that began after incidents in 2022.
The defendants, known as ultras, were initially sentenced to prison terms ranging from two to six months for charges including violence against public officials during matches. The appeals court was set to review these sentences but adjourned the case without proceeding to a verdict.
This delay extends a case that has drawn significant attention to fan violence and security at sporting events in Morocco. The supporters' families and legal representatives continue to await a final judicial decision on the matter.
