According to a report from the French police's Central Office for the Repression of Violence against Persons (OCRVP), Morocco and Algeria are the top countries where French fugitives are believed to be hiding. The report, obtained by RTL, indicates that 218 fugitives are suspected to be in Morocco, while 124 are believed to be in Algeria.
The data, which is based on arrest warrants and intelligence, highlights the challenges of cross-border law enforcement. The report notes that these numbers are estimates and may not reflect the exact number of fugitives currently in those countries.
Other countries on the list include Spain, with 97 fugitives, and Romania, with 73. The report also mentions that some fugitives may have moved between countries or returned to France.
