Morocco is advancing its agricultural sector through the adoption of agroecological practices under the Green Generation strategy (2020-2030). This initiative, launched by the Ministry of Agriculture, aims to enhance food security, preserve natural resources, and support smallholder farmers.
Key measures include promoting organic farming, reducing chemical inputs, and improving water efficiency. According to official reports, the area under organic farming has increased to over 100,000 hectares as of 2025, with plans to expand further.
The strategy also focuses on training farmers in sustainable techniques and providing financial incentives for eco-friendly practices. These efforts align with Morocco's commitments under the Paris Agreement and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
