During the 37th session of the Executive Bureau of the Arab Union of Customs Brokers in Fes, Moroccan official Omar Hijira called for strengthening the volume and quality of intra-Arab trade. Hijira, the President of the National Federation of Customs Brokers, emphasized the need to develop customs brokerage to support economic integration and facilitate the movement of goods across Arab countries.

The meeting, held on March 30-31, 2026, focused on modernizing customs systems and enhancing cooperation to tackle logistical challenges. Participants discussed implementing digital solutions and harmonizing procedures to reduce trade barriers within the Arab region.

This session is part of ongoing efforts to activate the Greater Arab Free Trade Area and improve the business environment. The discussions align with broader regional goals for economic development and increased commercial exchange.
