Sales from Morocco's coastal and artisanal fisheries reached a value of over 3.11 billion dirhams (MMDH) by the end of March 2026, according to the National Fisheries Office (ONP). This figure represents a 3% decrease compared to the same period in the previous year.
The data, reported by the state news agency MAP, indicates a slight downturn in the sector's commercial performance for the first quarter. The ONP is the official source for national fisheries statistics in Morocco.
While the total value saw a decline, the volume of products landed showed a different trend. The quantity of fishery products marketed increased by 4% during the same period, reaching approximately 241,000 tonnes.
The fisheries sector remains a significant component of Morocco's economy and food security. The ONP regularly monitors and publishes these figures to track the industry's health and inform policy decisions.
