The Professional Grouping of Banks of Morocco (GPBM) has announced that Monday, March 23, 2026, will be an official bank holiday across the Kingdom. The closure is to mark the celebration of Eid al-Fitr, the festival marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

In a statement, the banking group confirmed the exceptional closure for all banking institutions. This aligns with the official public holiday declared by the Moroccan government for the occasion.

The GPBM stated that the decision ensures bank employees can observe the religious holiday with their families. Normal banking operations are scheduled to resume on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.

Eid al-Fitr's exact date is determined by the sighting of the new moon, and Moroccan authorities had previously confirmed the holiday would begin on Sunday, March 22. The following Monday was consequently designated a public holiday.
