The Mohammed VI Tower, a 250-meter (820-foot) skyscraper in Rabat, Morocco, officially opened in 2025, becoming the second tallest building in Africa after the Iconic Tower in Egypt. The tower is part of the Bouregreg Valley development project, which aims to modernize the capital's skyline and boost economic growth.
Designed by the Spanish architecture firm Alonso y Asociados, the tower features 55 floors and includes a mix of office spaces, a luxury hotel, and residential apartments. Its construction began in 2016 and was completed in 2024, with the official inauguration taking place in early 2025.
The project has been praised for its architectural design and potential to attract international business, though some critics have raised concerns about its cost and the displacement of local communities. The tower is named after King Mohammed VI, who has championed major infrastructure projects in Morocco.
