The Massachusetts Institute of Technology's graduate engineering school has retained its No. 1 ranking for the 2026-2027 academic year, according to the latest U.S. News & World Report Best Graduate Schools rankings released on April 7, 2026. This marks the 33rd consecutive year the school has held the top position.

MIT's Sloan School of Management also performed strongly, ranking No. 5 among the nation's best business schools. The rankings are based on statistical surveys of programs and reputation assessments from academic and industry professionals.
