The 24th edition of the International Animation Film Festival (FICAM) officially opened in Meknès, Morocco, on May 15, 2026, and will run through May 20. The festival showcases a diverse program of animated films from around the world, including feature films, short films, and student works.
This year's edition features a competition section with 10 films vying for the Grand Prix, as well as retrospectives and workshops for aspiring animators. The festival also pays tribute to renowned Moroccan animator Ali Benjelloun, whose work has gained international recognition.
Organized by the Moroccan Cinematographic Center (CCM) in partnership with the city of Meknès, FICAM aims to promote animation as an art form and support local talent. The event attracts filmmakers, critics, and animation enthusiasts from across Africa and beyond.
