JOHOR BARU: A video showing a pickup truck running over a dog has gone viral on social media, prompting a local councillor to lodge a police report.
Johor Baru City Council (MBJB) councillor Teow Chia Ling confirmed she filed the report on Wednesday (May 20) regarding the incident. The video, which has been widely shared, depicts the vehicle deliberately driving over the animal.
Teow urged the public to come forward with any information that could help identify the driver and vehicle involved. She emphasized that animal cruelty is a serious offense under Malaysian law.
Police have not yet made any arrests or identified a suspect as of May 20. The case is under investigation.
