Two members of British trip-hop band Massive Attack have been issued police warnings and banned from re-entering Singapore after displaying a Palestinian flag during their concert on July 29, according to local authorities.
The Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) confirmed the action, stating that the flag display violated Singapore's strict laws against political statements by foreigners. The police issued formal warnings to the two band members, whose names have not been disclosed.
The concert took place at the Fort Canning Park as part of the band's tour. Singapore has a long-standing policy of not allowing foreign nationals to engage in political activities, including the display of political symbols.
The ban means the two individuals will not be permitted to enter Singapore in the future. The rest of the band was not affected, and the concert continued after the incident.
