ISLAMABAD, May 21 (APP) β Former President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and former Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States and the United Nations, Masood Khan, on Thursday stressed that rising tensions between the United States and Iran continue to threaten regional stability, and called for de-escalation through dialogue.
Speaking at a conference in Islamabad, Khan said that peace in the Middle East is a shared global interest, and that all parties should work to prevent further conflict. He noted that the international community has a responsibility to support diplomatic efforts.
Khan also highlighted the importance of resolving the Palestinian issue as part of broader regional peace, and urged the United Nations to play a more active role in mediation.
The event was organized by the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad, and attended by diplomats and analysts.
