England fast bowler Mark Wood has announced his retirement from international cricket due to a knee injury. The 36-year-old had not played for England since an injury in 2025, and his decision brings an end to a career that spanned 38 Test matches and 119 wickets.
Wood was known for his raw pace and ability to unsettle batters, often clocking speeds in excess of 90 mph. He was a key part of England's Test attack in recent years, forming a formidable partnership with James Anderson and Stuart Broad. His best bowling figures in Tests were 5 for 41, achieved against Australia in 2021.
