Manchester United have decided not to approve another loan move for forward Mason Greenwood, according to multiple reports. The decision effectively ends Barcelona's pursuit of the 24-year-old, who spent the 2025-26 season on loan at Getafe.
Greenwood, who has not played for United since January 2022, impressed during his loan spell at Getafe, scoring 10 goals and providing 6 assists in La Liga. Barcelona had been linked with a move to bring him to Camp Nou.
United's stance is believed to be final, with the club preferring to sell Greenwood permanently rather than sanction another temporary exit. The player's contract at Old Trafford runs until 2027.
