SUNGAI PETANI, April 29 β A man accused of assaulting his wife so severely that she suffered a miscarriage in Ambangan Height last Thursday has been remanded for seven days to assist investigations.
According to Berita Harian, the remand order was issued by the Magistrate's Court here today. The suspect, who had been on the run, was captured by police.
The incident allegedly occurred last Thursday at their home in Ambangan Height. The victim, who was pregnant, reportedly lost her unborn child due to the assault.
Police are investigating the case under Section 326 of the Penal Code for causing grievous hurt. The suspect will remain in custody until May 5.
