Manchester City is reportedly intensifying its pursuit of Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi following the conclusion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The 18-year-old French youth international has attracted significant interest from top European clubs after a breakout season with Lille.
According to multiple reports, City manager Pep Guardiola sees Bouaddi as a long-term replacement for aging midfielders. The club is prepared to offer around β¬30 million for the teenager, who has made 35 appearances for Lille this season.
Bouaddi, who can play as a defensive or central midfielder, has been praised for his composure and passing range. He made his senior debut for Lille in 2023 and has since become a regular starter.
Negotiations are expected to intensify in the coming weeks, with City hoping to finalize the deal before the start of the 2026-27 Premier League season. Lille is reportedly open to selling if the price is right.
