Gardaí in Cork city seized approximately €50,000 worth of controlled substances during a raid on a property in the Togher area on Friday, 22 May 2026. The operation was carried out by local drugs unit officers.
A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene and taken to a Garda station in Cork, where he was detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996. He has since been charged with possession of drugs for sale or supply.
The suspect appeared before Cork District Court on Saturday, 23 May 2026, where he was remanded in custody. Gardaí confirmed that the drugs seized included cannabis and cocaine, with an estimated street value of €50,000.
Investigations are ongoing, and Gardaí have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
