Clubs from North Africa's Maghreb region have secured a dominant position in the semifinals of the 2025-26 CAF club competitions. In the CAF Champions League, the final four consists entirely of teams from the region: Algeria's CR Belouizdad, Tunisia's Esperance de Tunis, Morocco's Raja Casablanca, and Egypt's Al Ahly.
This trend extends to the secondary CAF Confederation Cup, where two more Maghreb clubs, Morocco's RS Berkane and Algeria's USM Alger, have also reached the semifinal stage. This brings the total number of Maghreb clubs in the semifinals of both premier continental tournaments to six.
The strong showing underscores the continued footballing strength and financial clout of clubs in Northern Africa within the continental landscape. The semifinal first legs are scheduled to be played on the weekend of April 11-13, 2026.
