Four Malagasy wrestlers are set to compete at the 2026 African Wrestling Championships, scheduled to take place in Morocco from May 10 to 15, 2026. The delegation aims to bring home a total of ten medals across various weight categories.
The team includes experienced athletes such as Minoarisoa Rajaonarison, who won a bronze medal at the 2023 African Games, and Tojo Ramiandrisoa, a silver medalist at the 2024 African Championships. They are joined by two promising newcomers, Fenohery Andriantsitohaina and Mamy Raveloarison, who have been training intensively in Antananarivo.
According to the Malagasy Wrestling Federation, the target of ten medals is ambitious but achievable given the athletes' recent performances. The federation has secured funding from the Ministry of Youth and Sports to cover travel and accommodation expenses.
