A London mansion known as Providence House has reportedly been sold for approximately £265 million, according to multiple property news outlets. The sale, if confirmed, would rank among the most expensive residential property transactions ever recorded globally.

The property is located within the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea in the upmarket Chelsea neighborhood. It is a substantial, detached home with extensive private gardens, a rarity in central London.

The reported buyer is Cheung Chung-kiu, a Hong Kong-based property investor and chairman of CC Land Holdings. The seller was the billionaire recluse and former racehorse owner Christopher Cooper. The transaction was handled privately and exact terms have not been officially disclosed.

The reported price approaches the record for a UK home sale, currently held by a £280 million penthouse at 2-8a Rutland Gate in Knightsbridge, which was also purchased by a buyer linked to Hong Kong in 2020. The sale underscores the continued demand for ultra-prime London real estate from international investors.
