Liverpool midfielder Stefan Bajcetic has spoken emotionally about the injury setback that has prematurely ended his 2025/26 season. The 21-year-old confirmed he suffered a recurrence of a calf issue during a recent under-21 match.

"I was crying a little bit, to be fair," Bajcetic said in an interview with Liverpool's official website, describing his reaction to the fresh injury. "It's been a tough one, especially because I was feeling really good." The Spaniard had only recently returned to action after a long-term adductor injury kept him out for much of the previous campaign.

Manager Arne Slot confirmed the severity of the injury, stating Bajcetic would not play again this season. The club's medical staff is now focused on his rehabilitation for the next pre-season. Bajcetic, who made a breakthrough in the 2022/23 season, has seen his progress severely hampered by persistent physical problems over the past two years.
