Bayern Munich defender Lennart Karl is in a race against time to be fit for the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain. The 24-year-old German international suffered a muscle injury in training earlier this month, casting doubt on his participation.
Manager Julian Nagelsmann provided an update on April 18, stating that Karl's recovery is progressing but his status for the crucial match on April 29 is still unclear. "Lennart is working hard with the medical team. We will make a decision closer to the game," Nagelsmann said.
Karl has been a key part of Bayern's defense this season, making his potential absence a significant concern as they face the attacking threat of Kylian Mbappé and PSG. The club is expected to provide another fitness update in the coming days.
