Contrary to popular belief that weekends are the least stressful, a study published in the Journal of Happiness Studies found that Friday is actually the least stressful day of the week. The research, conducted by psychologists at the University of Vermont, analyzed Twitter posts from 2010 to 2015 and found that positive sentiment peaks on Fridays.
The study, led by Peter Dodds, analyzed over 500 million tweets and found that people's language becomes more positive as the week progresses, with a notable spike on Friday. This pattern was consistent across different cultures and languages, suggesting a universal anticipation of the weekend.
While Saturday and Sunday also show high positivity, Friday consistently ranks as the most positive day, likely due to the anticipation of free time and social activities. The study highlights how our perception of time and work schedules influences our emotional well-being.
