The Laguna College of Art and Design (LCAD) has appointed Dr. Jonathan Burke as its new president, effective July 1, 2026. The announcement was made by the college's Board of Governors following a national search. Burke, who holds a Doctor of Education from the University of Southern California, has served LCAD for over two decades in various roles, including Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean of Fine Arts.

Dr. Burke succeeds Jonathan Burke, who served as interim president. The college stated that Burke's deep institutional knowledge and commitment to its mission were key factors in the selection. His appointment aims to provide stability and continued leadership for the private, nonprofit institution known for its programs in drawing, painting, and digital arts.

In a statement, Burke expressed his honor and outlined his focus on student success, faculty support, and strengthening the college's community partnerships.
