A significant landslide has blocked the strategic Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) near Digdol in the Ramban district, according to traffic police. The incident occurred near the Khooni Nallah area, leading to a complete halt of vehicular movement on the vital route.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Traffic, National Highway, Rohit Baskotra, confirmed the blockage and advised travelers to avoid the stretch. Authorities have initiated clearance operations, but the timeline for reopening the highway remains uncertain due to the scale of the debris.
The landslide has caused major disruptions, with long queues of vehicles forming on both sides. Commuters are being urged to use alternative routes or delay their journeys until the highway is cleared and declared safe for travel.
