Australian-born radio host Kris Fade, 46, has revealed he turned down the coveted KIIS FM breakfast slot in Sydney, a role often considered the biggest in Australian radio. In an exclusive interview, Fade said he made the decision after a conversation with Kyle Sandilands, the current co-host of the show.
Fade, who has built a successful career in Dubai, explained that the opportunity came knocking but he ultimately chose to stay in the Middle East. He cited his family and his established role at Virgin Radio Dubai as key factors in his decision.
βI had a chat with Kyle about it, and he was very supportive,β Fade said. βBut at the end of the day, my life is here in Dubai. I love what I do, and I couldn't see myself leaving.β
The KIIS FM breakfast show, co-hosted by Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O, has been a ratings powerhouse in Sydney for years. Fade's decision to decline the role has surprised many in the industry, given the show's prominence and high salary.
Fade, who has been in Dubai for over a decade, continues to host the Kris Fade Show on Virgin Radio Dubai, which remains one of the most popular radio programs in the region.
