Houston Rockets forward Kevin Durant is making progress in his recovery from a calf strain, but his availability for Game 4 of the first-round playoff series against the Los Angeles Lakers remains uncertain, head coach Ime Udoka said Saturday.
Udoka told reporters that Durant has been participating in light on-court work and is 'feeling better,' but the team has not yet cleared him for full contact practice. The Rockets trail the series 3-0 and face elimination in Game 4 on Sunday at Crypto.com Arena.
Durant sustained the injury during Game 2 of the series and missed Game 3. The 37-year-old averaged 27.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 5.0 assists during the regular season for Houston.
If Durant is unable to play, the Rockets will again rely on Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun to carry the offensive load. The Lakers have won the first three games by an average of 12 points.
