A Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) employee has succumbed to injuries sustained during an attack while on official duty in Isiolo County. The incident occurred on Thursday, April 9, 2026.
The victim has been identified as Shadrack Makembo. He was assaulted during a site visit in the Checheles area near Isiolo town.
Kenya Power confirmed the death in a statement, expressing condolences to the family and colleagues of the deceased. The company stated that the safety of its field staff remains a priority and condemned the act of violence.
