Construction of the new bus station in Kenitra, Morocco, officially began on Thursday, June 25, 2026, during a ceremony led by Abdessamad Kayouh, Minister of Transport and Logistics. The project, which covers an area of four hectares, aims to modernize the city's transport infrastructure.
The new facility is designed to replace the existing bus station, which has been criticized for congestion and lack of amenities. It will include multiple platforms, waiting areas, and commercial spaces, according to initial plans presented at the launch event.
Minister Kayouh emphasized the importance of this project for improving intercity travel and reducing traffic congestion in Kenitra. The station is expected to serve as a hub for regional bus routes, connecting the city to other major Moroccan destinations.
Construction is scheduled to be completed within 18 months, with the station becoming operational by late 2027. The project is part of a broader national effort to upgrade transport infrastructure across Morocco.
